The reason why elastic washer can not be used in slewing bearing

There is no way to prevent the wear of slewing bearing. Some customers want to reduce the cost, they want to install elastic washer on the slewing ring to reduce this kind of wear, in fact, it is a very serious misconception! Although the wear of slewing bearing can not be prevented, people can repair the wear very well to increase its service life. Next, we will discuss the reason why elastic washer can not be used for slewing bearing.

1. First of all, when the slewing bearing is connected by bolts and nuts, the bolts are specified as high toughness bolts (grade 10.9). The key of high strength bolt connection is to rely on the strong friction resistance between the connected parts to resist the external force, so the high strength bolts do not need spring pads.

2. Secondly, the total contact area of the elastic pad is not as large as that of the flat pad, and the flat pad is not reliable in the place with large preload. The large preload of the bolt (such as the preloading of grade 8.8 and left and right bolts) will lead to the plastic deformation of the surface near the support point of the spring washer. In the later application, with the expansion of the deformation, the preloading will appear the "Relaxation" condition. For rotating machinery, the vibration and collapse torque during operation will be relatively large. If the spring washer is added, the crack of vibration will be increased and the deformation of slewing ring will be caused.

3. In addition, a suitable flat pad can increase the total area of the support point, and can avoid extrusion plastic deformation caused by steel parts that are not hard enough to pre tighten the bolts to a certain extent, which is beneficial to maintaining the credibility of pre tightening.
